Overview
A rear kitchen extension for a Bath home, built in ashlar Bath stone with anthracite-framed glazing. Full-width bifold doors fold back to open the new kitchen and family space completely onto the paved patio, while a large rooflight and picture windows draw daylight deep into the plan. Inside, a handleless kitchen with a generous island and induction hob sits alongside a relaxed family area with a log burner — one open, light-filled space for cooking, eating and living.

Scope of Work
Design and construction of a single-storey rear extension in ashlar Bath stone with a flat roof and dark coping detail. Full-width anthracite bifold doors, rooflight and picture windows, paved patio, and a complete kitchen fit-out with island, induction hob and open-plan family area with log burner.

Client Objective
The owners wanted a light-filled kitchen and family space that opened fully onto the garden — somewhere to cook, eat and relax together — in materials that would sit naturally alongside Bath's traditional stone architecture.
[ 04 ]
Challenges
Achieving a fully-opening glazed wall and generous rooflight while keeping the extension feeling solid and crafted beside the original stone house, and zoning cooking, dining and relaxing within one open room.

NOOR's Solution
Finely-jointed ashlar Bath stone keeps the exterior in keeping with its setting, while full-width bifolds, a rooflight and deep picture windows flood the interior with light. The island anchors the kitchen zone, and the family area with log burner gathers around garden views — open plan, but with clear places for everything.
